Sheriff Scheme

The Office of High Sheriff is at least 1,000 years old and has its roots in Saxon times.

It is an independent Office which does not belong to any political party. The High Sheriff can be male or female. Their role is to bring together lots of different people for the good of the community that he or she serves.

The Junior Sheriff’s scheme is based around the same principals as the High Sheriff -working hard, doing good and generally trying to make the world a better place.

Teachers set tasks for their pupils in the Community safety section. On completion of these tasks the teacher gives each pupil points. On attaining the relevant number of points pupils will be rewarded with one of the following awards:

  • Bronze 1
  • Bronze 2
  • Silver 1
  • Silver 2
  • Gold
